Traveling with your pet: the guide to leave stress behind 🐕🚗😺
Traveling by road or train with your dog or cat requires a bit of organization, but it is definitely possible!
Before you leave: Prepare a special suitcase! Include: a suitable crate or harness, bowls, fresh water, kibble, a comfort item or blanket, waste bags, and their health record. If possible, have your pet test the car before the big trip with short walks.
During the journey:
• Secure your companion with a transport crate or a specific seatbelt.
• Schedule breaks every 2 hours to relax, drink, and move around a bit.
• Avoid leaving him alone in the vehicle, even in the shade: risk of heatstroke!
• Reassure him with your voice, gentle touches, and his favorite toy.
Tip for train or plane: Check the company's pet policies, consider reserving an appropriate space, and prepare their crate with an absorbent pad.
Upon arrival: Give him time to explore and get used to his new environment. Do not abruptly change his eating habits.
