🏞 History
The Cesky Fousek, or Czech Wirehaired Pointing Dog, is an ancient breed originating from the Czech Republic, known since the Middle Ages. Used at the time for hunting birds and small game, it is the result of crosses between local dogs and breeds like the Pointer and the German Wirehaired Pointer.
Over the centuries, this dog has been refined to adapt to difficult terrains (swamps, mountains). However, World War II nearly marked the end of the breed. Fortunately, passionate breeders worked to preserve it, and it was officially recognized in 1964. Since then, the Cesky Fousek has gained popularity due to its incredible versatility: both a formidable hunter and a loyal companion.
