The Dogo Argentino was created in Argentina in the 1920s by Dr. Antonio Nores Martinez. His goal was to design a dog capable of hunting large game such as pumas and wild boars. By crossing different breeds, including the English Pointer, Bull Terrier, and Dogue de Bordeaux, he produced a muscular, agile dog with an exceptional hunting instinct. Although designed for hunting, the Dogo Argentino is also an excellent guard dog and a loyal companion.
