🐕 Landseer (or European Continental type Landseer)
The Landseer is an imposing breed, resulting from the cross between the Newfoundland and the Pyrenean Mountain Dog. Its name is inspired by the British painter Edwin Landseer, famous for his works depicting dogs similar to this breed. Although it was very popular in the 19th century, its interest declined in the early 20th century. However, thanks to breeders in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria, the breed has been preserved.
